Community and Practice:

Jason Osbourn is a seasoned litigator with years of experience in both civil and criminal litigation. Jason worked for several years in both criminal prosecution and defense before moving to civil litigation. His civil practice is focused primarily upon insurance defense with specific expertise in first- and third-party no fault litigation and premises liability. Jason has a reputation as an adept and persuasive writer. Notable accomplishments include:

 

• Summary dismissal of tort claims brought against his clients for assault and battery, conspiracy, and negligence which was granted after the Court agreed that there was no genuine issue of material fact that Jason’s clients were protected from such claims on the grounds of self-defense.

• Summary dismissal of client insurer after finding that the claimant was still domiciled with his mother even after both had vacated their shared home.

• Summary dismissal of more than $600,000 in no-fault damages after proving though circumstantial evidence that the claimant was involved in and had knowledge of the theft of the vehicle she occupied at the time of the accident.

 

Jason served in both the Marine Corps Reserve and Army Reserve and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He serves on several community boards in Grand Rapids. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, backpacking, and woodworking.
